About GovJobs
GovJobs is a small set of free tools for one specific question: whether a particular government exam will accept your age and qualification. It is not a job board. Nothing is posted daily, and there is nothing to scroll through.
Why this exists rather than a job listing site
Job listing sites are useful for what is happening this week. They are much worse at the arithmetic underneath a notification. Age is measured on a date the exam names, not today, and different commissions choose different dates. Relaxation is added by category on a fixed central schedule, but the certificate that carries it has to be in the right form or the claim is simply ignored. Those rules change rarely, which makes them a good fit for a tool and a poor fit for a feed.
Where the figures come from
Every limit in these tools is taken from a published recruitment notification and not from a blog post or an aggregator. The 13 exams currently covered are drawn from Staff Selection Commission, Staff Selection Commission / CAPFs, Union Public Service Commission, Railway Recruitment Boards, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, State Bank of India, UPSC, Indian Army, Railway Recruitment Boards / SSC. Each entry records the exact date its notice fixes for reckoning age, because that date is the part candidates most often get wrong.
Where a notice could not be confirmed at the time of writing, the result is labelled as needing verification rather than presented as settled. A wrong age limit is more damaging than an absent one, because a candidate may apply for something they cannot actually get.
Figures were last checked against source notifications in October 2026.
What the checker decides
It measures your age on the reckoning date each exam publishes, applies the upper-age relaxation for your category, checks your qualification against the minimum, and flags height and chest shortfalls on posts that run a physical standard test.
What it does not decide
- Attempts already used, which several exams cap and none of the notices describe as a simple age range
- Medical fitness and the standards of medical fitness attached to a particular post
- Subject-specific degree requirements, such as a specific discipline for a technical post
- Domicile and state preference rules that apply to state board recruitments
- Whether a race for a limited vacancy will go your way
Clearing a check here means the age rule does not stop you. It is permission to apply, not a prediction of selection.
The guides
Alongside the tools we publish written guides to the rules behind them: which date each commission counts your age on, what an age relaxation is actually worth once the certificate is examined, how ex-servicemen relaxation is calculated two different ways, how physical standards are measured, and why document verification rejects applications that are otherwise correct. They are written to be read once and used for years, since the rules they explain change far less often than the notices do. Start at the guides index.
How your details are handled
The checker runs entirely in your browser. Your date of birth, category and measurements are never sent to a server, never written to storage, and never shared with anyone. Closing the tab discards everything, which is also why the page cannot tell you your last result. See the privacy policy for the rest.
Corrections
If a figure here contradicts the notification on the official website, the notification is right and this site is wrong. Write to contact@govjobs.online with the exam name and the notice, and it will be corrected.
